It's not the dog days of summer, but there is a bit of a crisis going on with our dogs here in Mountainair.
We've got more than we can house at our shelter and so anyone who can adopt or foster is being asked to let Walter of Animal Control know.
Plus, it is COLD if you are a dog outside - so any donations of blankets, food, or other dog necessities is more than greatly appreciated.
It is the time of year where giving is the goal and really, how much more stuff do you need?

You can Track Santa Here:
Christmas Land is open and ready for your visit!
Santa will be live and in person this Saturday 12.21 from noon to 8pm It will be your last chance to catch him before he has to head north to finish up his work for Christmas Eve.

But then it is all warm and glowy inside to give you the full Christmas feeling!
It is also the last week to score big savings on southwestern art, antiques, jewelry, furniture and estate sale treasures!
The Abo Trading Post is on the corner of Hwy 60 and Hwy 55.
They will be open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10am - 3pm.
For questions, you can call Diann at 505 401-2196 or the store at 505-847-0390. Here's a bit of what is there!
Also beginning this week are "Las Posadas."
These gatherings occur over nine days, from December 16 - 24. They are a tradition dating back over 400 years and are still part of our local culture.
They are by invitation only, so I can't tell you where to go, but it is amazing to me how many things do go on in our tiny town!
