Here is a bit of what is happening this month. The REAL way to find out what goes on is to look at one of our many bulletin boards around town. Flyers are king in Mountainair! Here are two that I have so far:
Take heart - this isn't it, just what I've got for now! Things have been "down" here at The Mountainair Wire, but we are slowly coming back to life... so stay tuned!
Spring has sprung and here is what you will find to do in Mountainair, New Mexico this month!
Mountainair High School and local artists teamed up to create a mural reflecting the Mustang Name - Good Job!
Well that went fast and here we are again in a new month! This is all I've got so far.... So if you know of anything happening in March, send it in!
March 11 at 1pm at the Police Station is the first meeting about volunteering at the Animal Shelter.
The Mountainair Animal Shelter is nearing completion and will soon be housing dogs, with cats soon to follow. Animals are more adoptable if they are socialized to different humans and to other pets, and thus we are looking for people who will volunteer to interact with the animals each week for a few hours. If you volunteer, you may be asked to hold and pet the animals, to walk the dogs, to feed the animals and…..yes…. to clean up after them! Everyone will have training and the supervision / assistance of Walter, our Animal Control Officer and Robert, our Chief of Police to make the experience safe and enjoyable
It's the shortest month so don't blink or you'll find your self in March! Here is a bit of what is going on in our town this month!
The weekly happenings are a little slim, so I'll be posting by the month unless more events are submitted!
Friday, 1.31 is a Chinese Dinner at the Mountainair High School to raise funds for the Band. 5pm is the time to be there!
Welcome to our first full and official week of 2014. We are greeting it with cold temperatures but hopefully in a few days things will become more seasonal again!
I hope everyone had good holidays as the focus now shifts back to the business of living!
Tuesday, 1.7 is the Chamber of Commerce meeting at 11:30am at Alpine Alley. There has been a change and the new year welcomes Kevin Turner back into the Presidents position. Thank you to CJ for her leadership last year.
Wow! Somehow we are back here at the end of one year looking at a new year head on. How does that happen so fast? Time to say good bye to 2013 - which you can also read here - and hello to 2014.
I know you don't need me actually telling you this, but in the spirit of "This Week" here we go...
This week is really all about family and not working very hard and remembering all the blessings you have in your life. So from us, ok mostly me, here at The Mountainair Wire I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!
Don't forget, Christmas Land is open thru 12.24 - it is beautiful and festive and a lot warmer than outside, so make sure you stop by!
Welcome to a new week here in Mountainair! It looks like we've got several fabulous and beautiful days in store - sun mild temperatures, and not as cold nights. I know I am excited!!!
That's all I've got so far this week, but it will be a busy one I am sure for everyone getting their last minute preparations in place so you can relax and enjoy the holidays. Yeah, right! Well, it is a wonderful thought!
